Cotton sarees are the most widely used sarees because of its simplicity and make and is preferred for daily use. Raw materials used are mainly cotton, or more recently mercerized cotton, which is soft & shiny. These cotton saris are totally handcrafted with pure jamdani artwork by Bengal’s traditional Weavers. You will be impressed by its softness. It is very comfortable to wear in any season, especially in the summer season. Beautiful patterns of fruits, flowers, diamonds, animals, birds or human figures are generally impressed on these Cotton Sarees.
The process of ‘mercerising’ is a textile finishing treatment for cellulose fabric and yarn, mainly cotton and flax, which improves the dye uptake and tear strength, reduces fabric shrinkage, and imparts a silk-like lustre. Ideal for casual wear, the mercerised cotton sarees are one step ahead in being soft and radiant and is one of the best choices for wearing in humid climate.
