Ghicha is the silken yarn obtained from cocoon which do not get included in the routine process of reeling in of tussar silk directly from the cocoon. Ghicha threads are the undyed leftovers of pure Tussar silk threads which are processed for dyeing. Hence, the Ghicha silk threads are natural and it offers the natural texture and an exceptional weave. This yarn is generally used as a blend material with pure silk fabric or ‘katia’ silk or pure cotton fabric.

Ketia is a combination of Tussar and Cotton fibres. This weave pattern of this handwoven saree is uneven, but therein lies the charm of handcrafted products.
