The Cotton Silk fabric is a hybrid of two natural fibers, joining positive characteristics of each into a single textile fabric. A light weight, velvety, silky and comfortable weave, the cotton silk fabric has a soft feel and a sturdy and smooth wrap, alongside flexibility that makes it appropriate for an extended everyday use.

It is generally made as a primarily cotton mix. The flexibility and feel of the fabric depends to a great extent on the rates utilized of each. Silk and blended silk are very similar in strength, texture, and appearance. Blended silk is seen as a cheaper alternative that is more durable due to its mixed fabric. The blended fabric increases antimicrobial properties with UV protection. Blended silk sarees are a great alternative to enjoy the natural silk’s appearance and feel, but are stronger and durable.

The word Batik is Javanese (Indonesia) in origin. Batik is a technique of wax-resist dyeing applied to whole cloth, or cloth made using this technique. Batik is made either by drawing dots and lines of the resist with a spouted tool called a canting, or by printing the resist with a copper stamp called a cap. The applied wax resists dyes and therefore allows the artisan to colour selectively by soaking the cloth in one colour, removing the wax with boiling water, and repeating if multiple colours are desired.
